The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has squarely blamed Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for aborting Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Following Naqvi’s press conference, Provincial Information Advisor Barrister Dr. Saif accused him of performing theatrically for the media, criticizing his feigned ignorance of the Chief Minister’s abduction as merely a dramatic act.
Dr. Saif held Minister Naqvi directly responsible for the incident, citing the vandalism at the KP House as undeniable proof that the Chief Minister was forcibly detained. He argued that attacking a democratically elected Chief Minister constitutes an assault on the federation itself. Dr. Saif declared that the damage to the KP House would be preserved as historical evidence of this affront, with the broken windows and doors symbolizing a direct attack on democratic values.
Moreover, Barrister Dr. Saif condemned the actions of what he called the “fake government,” labeling them a shameful blot on the history of democracy and the federation. He raised concerns about the message such actions send to international observers, especially in the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting, questioning how Pakistan could explain such undemocratic behavior to its foreign guests.

In response, Dr. Saif announced that a session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly had been called to address these grievous acts by the federal government. He revealed that the provincial government is pursuing legal measures through the Advocate General. The assembly session is set to focus on the Chief Minister’s abduction and the vandalism at KP House, underscoring the incident as a violation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people’s mandate. Strategies will be formulated during this session to counter the Chief Minister’s abduction and combat the current federal administration’s undemocratic and authoritarian tactics.
