The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, approved a Rs1 billion grant for free textbooks and school bags for students in merged districts.
The KP Cabinet 2025 also approved the Cannabis Rules 2025, which regulate the production of medicinal and industrial cannabis. The province will oversee both cultivation and sales. This initiative aims to enhance research and boost commerce.
Education saw more wins. The cabinet revised the costs of the “Missing Basic Facilities in Schools” project. It also raised the Parent Teacher Council spending cap from Rs0.5 million to Rs0.7 million. Moreover, Rs100 million will support Deeni Madaris grants.
Health initiatives shone, too. The new Sehat Card Transplant & Implant Scheme covers bone marrow, liver, kidney, and cochlear transplants. Additionally, the cabinet waived rules to lease land for dispensaries in Peshawar’s high-risk polio areas.

Infrastructure received attention. The cabinet approved the completion of the Northern Peshawar Ring Road, linking Warsak Road to Nasir Bagh Road. Gandapur wants it tied to Hayatabad’s Industrial Estate. Meanwhile, Rs3.6 billion will buy sanitation vehicles for 132 TMAs, prioritizing cleanliness.
Water needs prompted action. The cabinet funded a drinking water tunnel from the Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project. This secures Peshawar’s supply using provincial funds.
The KP Cabinet 2025 streamlined governance. It merged the redundant Governor’s Inspection Team with the Provincial Inspection Team. Furthermore, the Government Servants Housing Foundation Bill 2025 will provide employee plots.
The Advocate General will handle Supreme Court cases, saving funds. The cabinet also granted Rs30 million to the KP Bar Council.
