KL Rahul, the wicketkeeper-batter for Delhi Capitals (DC), achieved a significant milestone by entering the top 10 run-scorers in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Rahul surpassed Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane and veteran batter Dinesh Karthik during DC’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2025 on Friday.
DC struggled at 58/4 against a challenging chase of 164 runs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium before Rahul stepped in. He delivered an excellent, unbeaten inning of runs off just 53 balls, smashing seven fours and six impressive sixes. His aggressive batting, striking at 175.47, secured a crucial victory for DC.
Rahul’s Impressive IPL Career Record
Since making his IPL debut in 2013, Rahul has scored 4,868 runs from 135 matches at an outstanding average of 46.36 and a strike rate of 135.67. His consistent performances include four centuries and 39 half-centuries, with his highest IPL score being 132*.
Rahul’s most prolific IPL season came in 2020 with Punjab Kings (PBKS), where he claimed the Orange Cap by amassing 670 runs, including a century and five half-centuries.

Rahul boasts a remarkable batting record against his former team, RCB. In 17 matches against RCB, he has scored 741 runs at an exceptional average of 74.10 and a strike rate of 147.31, including one century and four half-centuries. His highest IPL score, 132*, also came against RCB.
In successful IPL run-chases, Rahul stands out with 1,208 runs from 25 matches at an exceptional average of 71.05 and a striking rate of 148.58, including 15 fifties. Only David Miller holds a higher average among IPL batters with at least 500 runs in successful chases (103.70).

Match Highlights: DC vs RCB
Delhi Capitals won the toss in the match and opted to bowl first. DC’s spin attack, led by Kuldeep Yadav (2/17) and Vipraj Nigam (2/18), effectively restricted RCB to 163/7. For RCB, notable contributions came from Phil Salt (37 runs off 17 balls) and Tim David (37* runs off 20 balls).
In response, DC initially stumbled but recovered brilliantly through Rahul and Tristan Stubbs, who shared an unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership of 111 runs. Stubbs provided solid support with 38* runs off 23 balls.
