Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) handed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) an 80-run thrashing in the IPL on Thursday, and they didn’t hold back online.
SRH’s star batter, Travis Head, was dismissed for just 4 runs and became KKR’s target on social media. “Heading towards the business, right from the start,” their post quipped, highlighting his latest failure.
SRH has suffered its third consecutive loss, leaving it with just one win in four games. After posting a massive score of 286 against the Rajasthan Royals to start the season, SRH’s batting performance has declined, failing to exceed 200 runs in the following matches.

Head, who is usually a strong performer against many IPL teams, has not scored any runs in his last three games against KKR, which makes him a weak link in Hyderabad’s lineup.
SRH captain Pat Cummins didn’t mince words post-match. “Not a great time,” he admitted. “This was gettable, but poor fielding and batting let us down.” He pointed to dropped catches and a lack of aggression, suggesting a rethink on tactics. “Our batters shine when they attack, but maybe we picked the wrong options,” Cummins said.

On skipping spinner Adam Zampa, he noted, “The ball wasn’t gripping, so we stuck to pace.” Looking ahead, Cummins plans a quick reset. “We’ll review, but I won’t dwell. We’re back to a familiar venue next,” he added, aiming to halt SRH’s slide after this crushing defeat.
