In the IPL 2024 final, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a dominant victory over SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), winning eight wickets to claim their third championship title.

The final unfolded with KKR’s captain, Pat Cummins, electing to field first after winning the toss. KKR’s bowling attack, spearheaded by Mitchell Starc, immediately took control of the game. Starc delivered a standout performance in the first over, dismissing SRH opener Abhishek Sharma with a remarkable delivery.

KKR maintained a tight grip on the match, consistently thwarting SRH’s attempts to build a significant inning. The pressure culminated in SRH being bowled out for a meagre 113 runs in 18.3 overs.

Andre Russell was particularly lethal with the ball, capturing three wickets for just 19 runs in his 2.3 overs, making him the standout bowler for KKR in this crucial match. The collective effort from KKR’s bowlers and a swift and effective batting response ensured a smooth path to victory, reinforcing KKR’s status as a formidable force in the IPL.
