Gene Simmons, the iconic KISS bassist and co-lead singer, was hospitalised following a car accident on Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway. The incident occurred before 1:00 p.m. in the 25000 block when Simmons’ black Lincoln Navigator veered across lanes and hit a parked car. Conscious at the scene, he told first responders he fainted or lost consciousness, possibly due to recent medication adjustments.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department took Simmons for a routine evaluation. He was discharged and is now recovering at home, with his condition reported as stable.

Simmons, 76, has a history of atrial fibrillation (AFib), causing irregular heart rhythms and symptoms like dizziness. In 2023, severe dehydration during a Brazil concert paused a KISS performance. His wife, Shannon Tweed, noted doctors advised increased fluid intake after recent medication changes.
On October 8, Simmons posted on X: “I’m completely fine. It was a slight fender bender. I’m a horrible driver.” A representative told The Hollywood Reporter, “Gene is fine and back to work.”
Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes. I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us were horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.

The accident raises concerns about Simmons’ health management, given his AFib and the need for hydration. However, no indications suggest it will disrupt his schedule, including KISS’s November 2025 Las Vegas reunion event, KISS Army Storms Vegas. Fans remain hopeful for his full recovery.
Simmons’ accident highlights health challenges for ageing performers. His quick recovery reassures fans, but careful medical oversight is crucial.
