Buckingham Palace (@RoyalFamily) announced on Monday that King Charles, aged 75, has received a cancer diagnosis, leading to a temporary suspension of his public engagements.
Ascending the throne in September 2022 after Queen Elizabeth’s passing, King Charles remains optimistic about his recovery and is eager to promptly resume his full range of duties.
Following a recent hospital stay for a procedure addressing an enlarged prostate, medical professionals identified an additional health concern. The nature of this cancer diagnosis was not detailed, except for clarifications that it is not prostate cancer.
Starting today, King Charles has begun a series of treatments. During these treatments, he will scale back on public appearances as recommended by his medical team. Nevertheless, he intends to persist with his state responsibilities and official documentation from behind the scenes.
