Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced a 10-year age relaxation policy for public sector jobs, boosting inclusivity.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has implemented a comprehensive age relaxation policy. This policy allows for a 10-year extension of the upper age limit for positions in Grade 17 and above and for Secretariat posts up to Grade 16. For non-Secretariat roles, age relaxations are determined by Administrative Secretaries and departmental heads. Additionally, special provisions provide further leniency for widows and children of government employees who were martyred in terrorist acts.
The policy revises the Civil Servants Rules 2008, demonstrating the province’s commitment to inclusive employment. This mirrors Sindh’s recent decision to increase the age limit for applicants from 28 to 33. Additionally, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) has raised the age limit for the Provincial Management Service (PMS) exam to 35, allowing an extra attempt (up to four attempts) for the 2025–2026 examination cycles.
The policy, expected to benefit thousands, enhances access to stable government jobs, fostering economic stability.
