The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formally announced its plans to establish an air ambulance service, a directive set in motion by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
The Chief Minister has mandated that this service be implemented within the next four months, underscoring the administration’s commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and infrastructure.
The air ambulance initiative was unveiled alongside the designation of Hayatabad in Peshawar as a healthcare city, marking a significant step forward in the region’s medical services. The decision emerged from a strategic meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House, attended by key figures from the health department, demonstrating a unified effort to bolster healthcare provisions.
During the discussions, Chief Minister Gandapur explicitly instructed the relevant departments to ensure the operational readiness of the air ambulance service within the stipulated timeframe.
In addition, the meeting also saw the introduction of proposals for the creation of emergency motorcycle response units. To be deployed in densely populated sectors of the province, these units will be outfitted with essential medical supplies, aiming to improve emergency response times and medical care delivery.
