The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has consented to all the demands the Bannu Peace Jirga made.
During a detailed discussion with the Jirga members, the Chief Minister confirmed that the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had clarified the nature of Operation Azm-e-Istahkam, describing it as a strategic initiative rather than a full-scale military operation.
CM KP assured that the police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) would primarily conduct search operations, with security forces ready to assist as needed.
Further commitments were made to bolster security measures in the region. This includes taking decisive actions against non-state armed actors and enhancing police patrols. To strengthen the capabilities of the CTD and local police forces in Bannu, the government plans to increase recruitment, provide additional vehicles, and improve overall resources.
The Chief Minister also announced that all the demands approved by the provincial government from the Bannu Peace Jirga will be forwarded to the Apex Committee for further deliberation.
Additionally, the committee will discuss establishing a commission to investigate the incident in Bannu, ensuring comprehensive and proactive governance in response to the community’s needs.
