Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif accused Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), of bringing thousands of Taliban members into Pakistan and providing them shelter.
In a post on X, Asif claimed PTI still pushes for terrorist negotiations, despite years of violence. “Our armed forces and citizens shed blood daily,” he wrote.
Asif criticised Pakistan’s hosting of six million Afghan refugees, saying, “This hospitality is paid for in our blood.” He demanded their return, stating, “Afghan guests should go back; terrorism and bloodshed must stop.” He questioned, “How can those who spill their hosts’ blood be called guests?”

Asif noted years of unsuccessful talks with the Afghan government. Despite delegations to Kabul, violence persisted. “Every day we bear soldiers’ coffins,” he lamented, highlighting the toll of ongoing militancy.
