Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader disowned storming in state television building by their protesting workers.

“PTI did not attack PTV and we totally disown this action. It damages our cause. We have always been peaceful & unarmed,” Imran Khan said through a recognized Twitter account.

Qadri said “none of our workers entered PTV. They instead ousted some infuriated persons… I direct them not to enter PTV premises.”

Earlier, hundreds of protesters stormed the state broadcaster as fresh clashes with police broke out in Islamabad.

Transmission of the main Pakistani Television (PTV) news channel was cut minutes after an anchor announced demonstrators had entered the building and “besieged” staff.

Meanwhile, Pakistan army contingents cleared protesters from PTV building.
