In the ongoing investigation into the kidnapping of senior dramatist Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, authorities have uncovered that the culprits involved have a documented history of criminal behaviour.
Recent updates from the investigative team reveal that the group accused of targeting Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar in a honey trap operation has a criminal background.
The prime suspect, Hassan Shah, is on record for prior offences, including kidnapping, acts of violence, and electricity theft in Nankana Sahib. Known also for his drug addiction, Shah has faced arrests related to drug-related offences.

Moreover, another group member, Rafiq alias Fiko, is implicated in six criminal cases in Sheikhupura. These charges range from murder and attempted murder to other violent acts. Rafiq is currently also wanted in Lahore for involvement in a murder case. The investigation further exposed that Rafiq functioned as a shooter for Hassan Shah.
The incident involving Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar unfolded when he was lured to a residence in Bahria Town, Lahore, under the guise of discussing a drama project. At the location, he was assaulted by assailants and subsequently kidnapped and robbed. Following the ordeal, Qamar disclosed that the invitation was a pretext set by the woman, who was among those arrested by the police in swift response to the incident.
