A local court in Karachi earlier yesterday ordered the transitional remand of the three key accused in Imran Farooq murder case.
The order has been issued a day after the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) lodged FIR of the high profile killing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founding member that took place in September 2010 in London.
Khalid Shamim, Muazzam Ali Khan and Mohsin Ali were presented before the duty judge amid tight security for a short while.
The transitional remand was sought to legalize the custody of suspects after the registration of the FIR and they would be presented before anti terrorism court on Monday, said our correspondent.
The FIA lodged the case against MQM chief Altaf Hussain, Muhammad Anwar, Iftikhar Hussain, Kashif Khan, Muazzam Ali Khan, Khalid Shamim and Mohsin Ali on Saturday.
Imran Farooq was beaten and stabbed to death in London and the British investigators have so far been unable to frame charges against any suspects in any court of law.
