The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has announced a comprehensive verification of the educational qualifications of its officers and employees across all grades. This initiative aims to ensure all personnel hold valid and verified educational credentials.
Effective immediately, KDA requires all employees and officers from Grade 16 and above to submit their educational degrees to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for verification. They must also include their birth certificates. A notice has been circulated to all department heads instructing them to collect and submit these documents within seven days.
Consequences of Non-Compliance
Employees who fail to comply with this directive within the specified timeframe will face disciplinary actions. This measure underscores KDA’s commitment to transparency and accountability within its ranks.
This move by KDA follows a broader trend within Sindh government practices. On December 7, the Sindh government issued advance salaries and pensions to facilitate the Christmas celebrations for its Christian community employees. Payments will be distributed on December 18, ensuring Christian employees have access to their benefits in time for the holiday on December 25.

Additionally, in September 2024, the Sindh government amended the Civil Service Act of 1973, revising the pension provisions. According to the new rules, government employees recruited after July 2024 will not receive a monthly pension upon retirement. Instead, they will participate in the Sindh Employee Benefit Scheme, where they and the government will contribute 10% and 12%, respectively, leading up to a one-time ‘Golden Cheque Gratuity’ upon retirement.
