Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif (COAS) on Wednesday said operation Zarb-e-Azb have achieved targets and army is in position to take actions against the terrorists in urban areas as well.
Speaking at the National Defence University, COAS also emphasized on an enhanced civil-military coordination to achieve a successful closure over the terrorists.
COAS added that “The contours of future wars are fast changing. Our enemies are sponsoring terrorism to stoke sub conventional conflicts and destabilize our country,”
“Pakistan opposed use of proxies against other countries and will not tolerate any country to use proxies against Pakistan,” he added.
Discussing on Kashmir issue, COAS that Kashmir is an unfinished agenda of partition and is essential to bring lasting peace in the region.
He also emphasized that while Pakistan wished for peace and stability in the region, it was essential to have a just resolution in light of UN resolutions and as per aspirations of Kashmiris to establish this.
“Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable. While we wish peace and stability in the region, we want Kashmir’s resolution as per aspirations of Kashmiris,” he added.
