Condemning the targeted murder of a Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker in Orangi Town, party chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday said the neighbourhood has become a hub of Al Qaeda and IS terrorist activities.
In a statement issued here, Hussain said that thousands of MQM workers have been killed in Orangi Town area.
“Orangi Town, Pakistan Bazaar and Chishti Nagar have become hubs of Al Qaeda and Daesh (IS),” he said.
The MQM chief said that none of the terrorists behind the killing of the party activists have been arrested yet, adding that the militants can be brought to justice with proper surveillance in Pakistan Bazaar and Chishti Nagar areas.
Offering condolences to the slain activist’s family, Altaf Hussain said that all party members including him were with them in this moment of grief.
He demanded swift arrest of the culprits behind Danish Kalim’s murder.
Kalim was a member of the MQM’s medical aid committee unit for Abbasi Shahid Hospital.
Meanwhile, MQM’s Rabita Committee also condemned the killing saying the party was being targeted for raising voice against increasing Talibanisation in the country.
In a statement issued in Karachi, the committee said 17 party workers were assassinated in January also.
