In Karachi, the surge in street crime has compelled citizens to take their safety into their own hands.
A notable incident in North Karachi’s Sector 5L showcased the bravery of a young man named Hamdan, who successfully fought off three armed robbers attempting to steal his motorcycle. The confrontation, captured on CCTV, ended with the criminals fleeing, leaving behind their fake pistols and the motorcycle.
The episode underscores the ongoing Karachi street crime and the challenges residents face amidst rising crime rates. In a separate but related incident, a young motorcyclist was fatally shot in Gulistan-e-Johar, Block 9, during an attempted robbery. This incident raised the death toll to 80 for individuals killed this year in robbery resistance in Karachi.

The Karachi Police spokesperson identified the deceased as 27-year-old Nauman, a resident of LS-1 Block 2, Gulistan-e-Johar. The initial investigation suggests that the shooting occurred during a robbery attempt, and local authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.
