The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall for the metropolis after July 20.
Karachi continues to experience hot weather interspersed with intermittent showers. Just a day before, several areas of the city, including Saddar, II Chundrigar Road, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, North Karachi, and Gulistan-e-Johar, experienced heavy showers around noon. The rainfall resulted in flooded streets, significantly disrupting traffic flow throughout the city.
Despite the ongoing hot and humid conditions, the PMD anticipates potential rain and drizzle in various parts of the city today. The temperature is expected to reach 35°C to 37°C, with humidity levels around 80%. Winds from the west are blowing at a light pace, and a resumption of the sea breeze is expected by evening.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz indicated that certain areas might see light rain or drizzle today. He noted that the low air pressure system that recently brought rain to Karachi has shifted towards Oman. He also mentioned that local cloud formation due to heat is possible, predicting improved weather conditions for the city over the next three to four days.
