Daylong violence on Friday claimed the lives of at least eight people in Karachi, in the areas of Sakhi Hasan, Golimar, Boat Basin and Korangi Crossing.

The latest gun attack incident occurred in North Nazimabad, where a man, Doctor Akram Sheikh was killed.

According to DSP Iftikhar Lodhi, some miscreants, riding a car, showed up at a masjid and recklessly opened fire at the people coming out of the masjid, injuring three, who were rushed to a nearby hospital.

At hospital, two of the wounded, Isar-ul-Qasmi and Zia-ur-Rehman, succumbed to their injuries. The firing incident and ensuing deaths infuriated the local people who went on the rampage at the hospital.

Meantime, a 25-year man Shahbaz was shot to death in Gulbahar’s Khajji Ground. Body of another man was found from seashore near a residential complex located in Boat Basin. The deceased was identified as Mutiullah. He died of a single gunshot injury.
