The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rain in Karachi from April 17 to 18.
According to the Met Department, a western disturbance will reach Balochistan on the evening of April 16, likely triggering another round of rain in Karachi.
The PMD anticipates rain, wind, and thunderstorms in multiple cities, including Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur, from the night of April 17 to the morning of April 19.
Other areas like Shikarpur and Ghotki might also experience heavy thundershowers. Regions in Balochistan, such as Gwadar and Kech, are expected to see heavy rainfall due to this system.
The PMD has warned about potential flash flooding in Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, advising residents to take preventive measures and stay updated with weather forecasts.
Light showers and thunderstorms in Karachi recently broke the heat, with Surjani Town recording 29mm of rainfall.
The rains, induced by a westerly system from Balochistan, affected various parts of the city, including Malir and North Karachi. There was intermittent rain throughout the day.
In response to the rains, a rain emergency was declared in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, with officials monitoring drainage efforts throughout the day.
