Due to the tripping of an extra high-tension line of the K-Electric, several areas of Karachi have sunk into darkness.

K-Electric spokesperson Usama Ayub said that last night, an underground extra high-tension line of the power generation company tripped, causing a power shortage.

He said the power transmission line tripped after surface water seeped into the ground. The line’s tripping had a domino effect, effectively leading to the tripping of 11 grid stations in different parts of Karachi.

Affected areas include Saddar, Qayyumabad, Korangi West, Defence, Malir, Garden, Kashmir Road, North Karachi, FB Area, Gulberg, Liyari, and others.
