The Karachi traffic police have established a 24/7 helpline to support residents during the ongoing disruptions.
MWM demonstrations, which have persisted for six days, have led to road closures, frustrating many city dwellers. Nonetheless, traffic police have implemented strategies to alleviate the impact.
The Karachi Traffic Police operate their 1915 helpline around the clock in three shifts, providing real-time traffic updates. Sub-Inspector Ilyas Siyal noted, “We have dedicated four phones solely for the helpline and are monitoring the situation via cameras. Despite the traffic issues caused by three days of protests, we inform residents about blocked routes and advise on alternative paths.”
