The Karachi matric exams postponed update has brought a major change for students across the city, as the Board of Secondary Education Karachi delayed the papers that were due to begin on Tuesday, April 7.
Chairman of the Karachi Matriculation Board, Ghulam Hussain, said the final examinations will now start on Friday, April 10. He said the board made the decision in the best interest of students across Karachi so they can be better accommodated.
The Board of Secondary Education Karachi said it delayed the exams because it is shifting from a manual system to a digital one.
According to the controller of examinations, the board is handling a larger volume of data during this transition. As a result, the software became overloaded and developed temporary technical faults. Officials then rescheduled the exams as an emergency measure.
New Karachi Matric Exam Date Announced
Officials said the revised examination schedule will be issued soon. However, students will sit their papers at the same centres already assigned to them.
That means candidates will not need to change their examination centres, even though the timetable has shifted. The update is expected to help students and schools prepare for the revised start date.
