The Karachi matric exam schedule has been revised for the 2026 annual examinations, with the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) now set to begin papers on April 10 instead of April 7. The board says the exams will continue through April 28.
According to the updated timetable, the Class 10 Computer Science paper for the Science Group will take place on the opening day, April 10. On April 11, the board will hold the Class 9 Computer Studies examination. BSEK has also issued a revised schedule for the General Group matric exams.
BSEK will conduct all matric examinations in the morning shift from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The board has directed students to reach their examination centres at least 30 minutes before the paper starts.
Officials also confirmed that the board has already issued admit cards to all matriculation students. Earlier, BSEK had told schools they could collect admit cards on April 6 by presenting an official authority letter.
Why BSEK postponed the exams
Earlier, the Karachi matric examinations were due to begin on Tuesday, April 7. However, BSEK Chairman Ghulam Hussain later announced that the board had postponed the exams and moved the start date to Friday, April 10.
The chairman said the board made the decision in the best interest of students across Karachi so it could accommodate them more effectively.

The Controller of Examinations said the board is currently transitioning from a manual to a digital system. He explained that the rising volume of data had overloaded the software, causing temporary technical faults. As a result, the board treated the rescheduling as an emergency measure.
He also said students would still sit their exams at the centres already assigned to them. That means the change affects the timetable, but not the designated examination venues
