Following a terrorist attack near Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has enforced new entry requirements to enhance security.

As per media reports, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) is gearing up to enforce stricter entry rules. Recently, a significant explosion on a road adjacent to the airport resulted in the deaths of three people, including two Chinese nationals, and injured at least 16 others.

Responding swiftly, the police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) detained three suspects linked to the attack. The PAA has decided to tighten security measures in light of these events.

According to new regulations, individuals coming to the airport to either greet or bid farewell to passengers must now present a copy of the passenger’s ticket at security checkpoints. The PAA’s directive limits airport access to no more than four individuals accompanying each passenger, and access will be denied without a ticket copy.

Furthermore, passengers who are picked up must carry their national identity cards, which will be verified at security points upon entering the airport grounds.

These measures, prompted by recent security breaches, aim to bolster safety and reduce risks for visitors and airport staff. The new security protocols will be implemented shortly and strictly enforced by the airport’s security teams.
