Justin Timberlake was arrested on DWI charges in The Hamptons, Long Island, New York.
According to a Sag Harbor Police Department representative, the 43-year-old singer was taken into custody on Tuesday, June 18. The police plan to release a statement later today.
While specific charges were not initially confirmed, however, PEOPLE, referring to a source, revealed that Timberlake faced DWI charges following a dinner at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. He was subsequently pulled over while driving to a friend’s house.
The source added, “Nobody was hurt. He will be arraigned in about an hour.”
Timberlake is scheduled for a court hearing on Friday, July 26, regarding the DWI charges.
Timberlake is currently on tour promoting his latest album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” released on March 15. The tour has included stops in major cities and upcoming shows in Chicago and New York City.
Timberlake’s U.S. tour will continue until July 9 before moving to Europe. He will return to North America for additional dates starting October 7 at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, New York, concluding by December 20.
