Justin Bieber is set to make a highly anticipated return to music’s biggest night, ending a four-year absence from the Grammy Awards stage.
The Recording Academy confirmed on January 28 that Bieber will perform at the Grammy Awards on February 1, 2026. The appearance will mark his first Grammys performance since 2022.
Bieber’s return coincides with a strong awards season. He earned four nominations for his album SWAG, including Album of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best R&B Performance.
Despite continued recognition, Bieber stayed away from the ceremony in recent years. His last Grammy appearance was in 2022, when he performed his Justice-era hit “Peaches”.

Bieber stepped back from touring and major events due to health concerns. In 2023, he cancelled the remainder of his Justice World Tour after doctors diagnosed him with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.
His final full tour performance took place at Rock in Rio in September 2022. Shortly after, he explained his decision to pause touring, saying exhaustion had forced him to prioritise recovery and long-term health.
Months of back-to-back shows across North America and Europe had taken a serious toll, prompting him to reassess his pace and commitments.
A Gradual Return to Music
Following the tour cancellation, Bieber kept a low profile. Aside from a brief surprise appearance at the 2024 NHL All-Star Player Draft in Toronto, he largely stayed out of the public eye.

Now 31, Bieber has returned to music on his own terms. In July, he surprise-released SWAG, which quickly gained momentum and multiple Grammy nominations. He followed it with SWAG II in September and later confirmed his first live public performance in a year.

Bieber’s confirmed Grammys performance represents more than a return to the spotlight. It signals a personal milestone after years focused on recovery, balance and family life with his wife, Hailey Bieber, and their 17-month-old son, Jack Blues.
As he steps back onto the Grammy stage, the performance marks a full-circle moment for an artist reconnecting with his audience after a period of reflection and healing.
