The second marriage of Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has been officially confirmed, with details of the bride and wedding dates now made public.
Senior Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader and former MNA Sheikh Rohail Asghar confirmed that Junaid Safdar’s marriage has been arranged with his granddaughter, Shanze Sheikh. He said the wedding ceremonies will take place from January 16 to January 18.
Earlier, Sheikh Rohail Asghar noted that Mah Noor, the younger daughter of Shanze Sheikh and Maryam Nawaz, is a close friend. Both families maintained regular social interactions, during which Junaid Safdar and Shanze developed mutual regard. He added that a formal proposal later came from Maryam Nawaz’s family, followed by meetings that finalised the alliance.

According to him, Maryam Nawaz visited the bride’s family along with her elder daughter and son-in-law, Raheel Munir, to formally propose the match. Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif later hosted the family at a meal, where wedding arrangements were discussed. All key decisions were made through mutual consultation between the two families.
Media reports suggest that the wedding events will remain private, with attendance limited to close relatives. A combined Mehndi ceremony will take place during Umrah in Saudi Arabia, where the Valima is also expected to be held.
This will be Junaid Safdar’s second marriage. He was previously married to the daughter of businessman Saif-ur-Rehman, but the marriage ended in divorce in October 2023.
