Julia Fox, known for her roles in “Uncut Gems” and “Diamonds in the Rough,” has openly shared that she has been practising celibacy for the past two and a half years.
The actress, previously dubbed Hollywood’s most famous dominatrix at age 18, made this disclosure in reaction to a Bumble advertisement which challenged the merits of celibacy.
Fox’s response, “2.5 years of celibacy and never been better tbh,” was posted on X (formerly Twitter). This revelation follows her high-profile relationship with Kanye West, which occurred post his divorce from Kim Kardashian. Fox clarified that she and West never had a sexual relationship during their time together.
Her statement on celibacy sparked mixed reactions from fans and celebrities alike. One fan related to her choice, saying, “I never knew Julia, and I would have so much in common,” while another commended her, calling it “Queen behaviour.”
Similarly, singer Craig David, who also practices celibacy, has noted that abstaining from sex has boosted his creativity.
The terms “celibacy” and “chastity” often come up in discussions about sexual abstinence. According to Dictionary.com, celibacy involves abstaining from sexual relations and, by vow, from marriage.
Chastity, on the other hand, pertains to refraining from sexual intercourse that is considered immoral or contrary to religious teachings. Both terms highlight different dimensions of abstaining from sexual activities and relationships.
