Julia Fox, formerly linked romantically to Kanye West, has publicly come out as a lesbian. This announcement followed a viral TikTok by comedian Gracin, which sparked widespread online discussion.
Fox, known for her role in “Uncut Gems” and as a mother to three-year-old Valentino with her former husband Peter Artemiev, declared her newfound understanding in response to the TikTok, asserting her decision to no longer date men.
Reflecting on the TikTok video’s content, which humorously touches on lesbian women who date men, Fox remarked, “Hey, that was me. I was that lesbian. So sorry, boys. Um, won’t happen again.” In a detailed discussion with ‘Variety,’ Fox delved into her previous self-doubts, admitting that despite encouragement from others, she struggled with self-confidence.
She explained, “I always had people telling me I could do so much more, and I didn’t have that same level of confidence.” She continued, detailing the disbelief she felt when others saw potential careers for her beyond her existing aspirations, “People would say, ‘You could be a writer, you should write a book about your life, you could be a movie star,’ and I was just like, ‘You guys are crazy.’ Like, I did not have the self-esteem to even see that for myself.”
Fox shared that she had always envisioned a career in the arts, though initially, she had a very narrow view of what that might entail.
