The Pakistan Air Force’s JF-17 Thunder fighter jet has emerged as a premier attraction at the ongoing Dubai Airshow 2025, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
A PAF contingent, featuring the advanced JF-17 Thunder Block-III and the Super Mushshak trainer aircraft, is participating in the prestigious event, showcasing Pakistan’s growing indigenous aviation capabilities.
The jet’s cutting-edge technology and proven operational performance have made it a focal point for defence analysts and aviation specialists attending the show. The event also served as a platform for significant diplomatic and defence discussions.

Pakistan’s Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu held a series of high-level meetings with air chiefs from friendly nations on the sidelines of the airshow. He also conducted comprehensive discussions with senior United Arab Emirates defence officials, including Lieutenant General Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, the Undersecretary of Defence, and Major General Rashid Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Commander of the UAE Air Force & Air Defence.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in advanced training programs and fostering collaboration in emerging aerospace technologies. Both sides expressed a shared resolve to enhance military engagement through joint exercises and professional exchanges. The UAE military leadership commended the Pakistan Air Force’s modernisation initiatives and its growing indigenous defence production capabilities.
The participation at the airshow yielded a tangible strategic outcome. Demonstrating increasing international confidence in Pakistan’s aviation industry, several countries expressed a strong interest in acquiring the JF-17 Thunder. In a key development, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was formally signed with a friendly nation to procure fighter aircraft.
