Jennifer Lopez became visibly emotional while endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris at a Las Vegas, Nevada rally. Her emotional response came shortly after she was unexpectedly questioned about her ex, Sean “Diddy” Combs, during an autograph signing.
Lopez addressed the crowd through tears at the rally, expressing her deep concern: “We should be emotional, upset, scared, and outraged.”
The incident that brought her emotions to the forefront occurred on Monday. While signing autographs after screening her movie “Unstoppable” in Hollywood, an attendee asked her, “JLo, do you have any comments about Diddy and the allegations?” Following the question, Lopez proceeded to the elevator with her security team without responding.
Lopez’s past relationship with Combs has attracted renewed attention following his recent arrest on severe charges, including sex trafficking. The pair, who dated from 1999 to 2001, parted ways after issues of infidelity and amid legal troubles for Combs, including his acquittal on charges related to a nightclub shooting incident.
This year, Combs faces charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, he could receive a sentence ranging from 15 years to life in prison.
In a recent political context, Lopez openly supported Harris following derogatory remarks about Puerto Rico by a comedian at a rally hosted by former President Trump. Trump described the U.S. territory as a “floating island of garbage,” sparking outrage. Lopez condemned Trump’s divisiveness at the rally, stating, “It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans that were offended that day, okay? It was every Latino in this country. It was humanity and anyone of decent character.”
As speculation around her relationship with Combs grew, Lopez also faced online criticism for her emotional reaction to the negative comments about Puerto Rico.
