The MTV Video Music Awards, where Madonna kissed Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera onstage, were unforgettable moments of any awards.
Jennifer Lopez said in a new interview with E! News that she and Britney Spears were supposed to kiss Madonna at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, not Christina Aguilera.
Britney Spears had just broken up with Justin Timberlake when Madonna kissed Britney Spears, everyone was shocked, and instantly all cameras zoomed in on Justin Timberlake.
In an interview on E! News, J-Lo revealed that Christina Aguilera also kissed Madonna in the same act, but her kiss was almost completely cut off from the show. Additionally, she revealed that Aguilera wasn’t even Madonna’s first choice to perform next to Britney.
“While I was filming a movie in Canada, Britney, her, and I met at her residence. And I could not leave the film, so they hired Christina to do it.”
Years later, in 2022, Britney Spears invited Madonna to her wedding, remembers that day. She kissed the pop star and captioned the photo, “madonna is extremely short, and I was shorter than her … do we shrink as we get older 🤔🤔🤔 … am I becoming short like my mom ??? Kissing the one and only Madonna 💋 !!! I didn’t know Madonna has almost as many number-one singles as The Beatles !!! So honored she came to my wedding … perspective … The Beatles have 20, and miss thang has 12 !!!”
