Jennifer Aniston recently made headlines not only for her sharp response to DJ Vance, Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate but also for a dramatic incident on the set of The Morning Show.
Vance controversially stated that America risks “handing the country over to people who don’t have a direct stake in it” because they don’t have children, like Vice President Kamala Harris.
Aniston retorted, “Vance, I pray your daughter can be fortunate enough to have children in the future. I hope she doesn’t have to resort to in vitro fertilization as a second option because you’re trying to take that away from her, too.”
However, Aniston captured social media’s attention again following an incident during filming. A video showed what appeared to be oil thrown at her while filming season four of her Apple TV+ series in Manhattan on Sunday. This scene, part of a stunt, involved her character Alex being surrounded by protesters.
“The Morning Show,” set behind the scenes of a fictional morning news program, stars Aniston and Reese Witherspoon as rival anchors Alex and Bradley.
The show delves into pressing contemporary issues, including the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and offers a critical look at the power dynamics within the media industry. It critiques how these dynamics shape careers and cultural narratives, presenting a sharp, multi-layered critique of the television news landscape.
