Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and a close ally of the PTI chief Jahangir Khan Tareen is set to declare his independent political party tomorrow.
This new faction will predominantly consist of former PTI members. Insiders have revealed that due to his Supreme Court disqualification, Tareen will assume the role of patron-in-chief of this emerging party. At the same time, Abdul Aleem Khan is expected to be its president.
Awn Chaudhry, presently serving as the PM’s advisor, is anticipated to take up the role of the organizer for Tareen’s party. The official announcement of the party is scheduled to take place in a press conference in Lahore tomorrow (Thursday), accompanied by various politicians.
Following the events of May 9, Tareen has been actively engaged in building this new party, meeting with senior political figures to outline plans.
Over the weekend, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, the former prime minister of AJK, declared his allegiance to Tareen, stating his intention to collaborate with him in the future.
Tanveer Ilyas commented that deliberations concerning the formation of the new party are ongoing, and the public can expect encouraging news shortly.
It’s worth noting that Tareen previously held the position of PTI’s secretary-general until his political career was halted in 2017. The Supreme Court disqualified him on the grounds of dishonesty following a petition submitted by PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi.
