Rawalpindi: Istanbul Award has been announced for Pakistan Army and its Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for their brave fight against terrorism in Pakistan.
The award was announced by 6th Think Tanks Forum of the Islamic Countries at Islamabad late on Friday night at a ceremony held at Aiwane Sadar.
The Think Tanks Forum of the Islamic Countries is a biannual gathering of the representatives of think tanks found in Muslim countries the world over. It is hosted by TASAM, a think tank based in Istanbul.
The two-day forum is being organized under joint auspices of Pakistan-China Institute (PCI), the Turkish Asian Centre for Strategic Studies (TASAM), the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and Pakistan’s Senate Committee on Defence.
The Forum has a 9-member board of eminent persons from different Muslim countries. Beside Pakistan other represented countries include Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Bangladesh, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Malaysia and Sudan. – APP
