Director-General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa has confirmed that Umar Naray, the mastermind Army Public School (APS) has been killed in a US drone strike in Afghanistan.
Earlier, the US General John Nicholson who is also the Commander Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan had called Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and confirmed the news.

Umar Naray who was known as Umar Khalid Khorasani and Khalifa Umar was a member of the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban (TTP). He had fled to Afghanistan after the military operation but was actively plotting terrorist activities from there.

The drone attack reportedly took place in the Bandar area in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan on Saturday 9th July, but was confirmed later. Another terrorist Qari Saifullah was also killed in the attack but this could not be verified as yet.
