The Islamabad High Court has recently issued a crucial directive in the ‘Iddat’ case, enhancing the likelihood of Bushra Bibi’s release.
The court ordered the Session Court to render a decision within ten days regarding the appeals for suspension of sentences filed by Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
Additionally, the Islamabad High Court has tasked Additional Session Judge Afzal Majoka with deciding on the suspension appeals for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi within ten days and to deliver verdicts on the main appeals within a month.
Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb pronounced the decision. During the proceedings, Salman Akram Raja expressed concern over the sudden transfer of the case from Session Judge Shahrukh Arjmand to Additional Session Judge. He advocated for a directive to ensure Judge Shahrukh Arjmand delivers a secure ruling, highlighting the unusual nature of the case transfer in his legal career.
