The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) has recently taken stringent action against a local Layers bakery in the capital for violating food safety and hygiene standards.
In a concerted operation, the IFA team, spearheaded by the Deputy Director of Operation & Assistant Commissioner Shalimar, raided Layers Bakery and unearthed alarming irregularities in their operations.
Shocking Discoveries at Layers Bakery
During the incursion at Layers Bakery, the team discovered several expired food on the premises, a flagrant breach of food safety regulations. Further investigation revealed an abysmal level of hygiene being maintained, which could potentially compromise customers’ health.
Additionally, the IFA team noted a complete absence of Mandatory Retail Dates (MRDs) on all items. Without this crucial information, consumers are unaware of the food’s freshness or potential health risks associated with consumption past the expiration date.
IFA’s Decisive Response
As a result of these shocking findings, the IFA made the decisive move to seal Layers Bakery, effectively ceasing its operations. This action highlights the authority’s commitment to enforcing strict food safety and hygiene regulations and its willingness to penalize establishments that fail to adhere to these standards.
The Islamabad Food Authority underscores its prioritization of public health and food safety through its actions. The authority remains dedicated to ensuring that food establishments within the city maintain high standards of cleanliness and compliance with food safety regulations to protect the public’s health.
