A personnel of Islamabad Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) earlier yesterday night committed suicide after killing at least two people including a woman and injuring others through firing in an area falling under the jurisdiction of the Banigala Police Station.
According to police, a personnel of ATS Islamabad Police Muhammad Mehmood who was reportedly a resident of Bahawalnagar entered a house in Durrani Street Banigala and opened fire on housekeepers and a woman name Muhammad Arshad ,Irum Iqbal respectively, killed them on the spot besides injured identified as Gul Nisar.
Later, the ATS commando committed suicide by pistol fire on his head, police said.
Mehmood was previously a tenant of Muhammad Arshad who later vacated his house from the ATS personnel, which led to the dispute.
The body of deceased and injured have been shifted to hospital for postpartum and medical treatment respectively where the conditions of the injured were reportedly critical.
Police register a case and started the investigation of the incident. (APP)
