At least one police officer was killed, and three others were injured when a car exploded in the I-10 neighborhood of Islamabad on Friday.
The explosion occurred when police halted a suspected taxi for a quick check, according to police officials.
After the explosion, the law enforcement agency cordoned off the area.
Initial reposts from the police believed that the vehicle contained explosives and that numerous officers were hurt in the explosion.
The injured law enforcement officers were transported to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
