Former finance minister and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Miftah Ismail, has again criticized Ishaq Dar by challenging his claim to reduce the dollar rate to Rs180.
In a YouTube video, Miftah Ismail exposed the internal turmoil of his political party, PML-N. During a conversation with a YouTuber, he said that Dar desired to become a minister and that he waged a six-month campaign against him.
After returning to Pakistan, he promised to cut the dollar price to Rs180; he teased Dar. Ismail asserted that Dar persuaded PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif to make substantial reforms to the national economy.
According to the former finance minister, Dar is the father-in-law of Sharif’s daughter and lives in London with her.
Ismail stated that Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is a fine politician but a poor policymaker.
Miftah Ismail stated on December 15 that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program is necessary to avert default risk.
Today, while appearing on the ARY News program’ 11th House,’ Miftah Ismail stated that the IMF program is required to revitalize the national economy; otherwise, the country will default.
The former finance minister said the government might negotiate with the IMF if the international lending organization seeks an Rs800 billion tax rise. Increased expenditures are the cause of economic difficulties, he acknowledged.
He stated that Shehbaz Sharif is aware of his differences with Ishaq Dar. However, Ismail held Dar accountable for their conflicts and devised schemes against him.
Ismail underlined that he will address the criticism leveled against him. “I remain a member of my party and always will. I have no plans to join a different political party. If PML-N maintains my membership, I shall remain with my political party.”
He criticized how the portfolio of the finance minister was stripped from him. “I was summoned to Suleman Shehbaz’s London apartment and informed that my ministry will be reinstated. It would be preferable to gain my trust first.”
