Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), the freshly-established political entity, has asked its members serving in the federal government to step down. This announcement was made public by Firdous Ashiq Awan, the party’s central spokesperson.
IPP President Aleem Khan has mandated party leaders Aun Chaudhry and Nauman Langarial to relinquish their roles in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)-led coalition government immediately.
Before IPP was created, Chaudhry and Langarial served as special assistants to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. “The party has requested these members to tender their resignations,” stated Awan.
She further indicated that the IPP would contest in the forthcoming general election while preserving its autonomy. The party’s organizational structure, Awan noted, would be disclosed in the near future.
