Apple launched the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, featuring a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera and the new A18 Pro chip, during the “It’s Glowtime” event.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max devices represent Apple’s most advanced offerings and have larger displays and enhanced cameras than their predecessors.
The iPhone 16 Pro’s 128GB model starts at $999, while the 256 GB iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,199. These models also have 512GB and 1TB storage options in Desert Titanium, Natural Titanium, White Titanium, and Black Titanium colours.
Preorders for both models begin on September 13 and will be available in general on September 20 through Apple’s website and authorized retailers.

Featuring dual SIM capabilities (US: eSIM, Worldwide: Nano+eSIM), both models run iOS 18 and are powered by the second-generation 3nm A18 Pro chip, which significantly enhances performance. They will support all Apple Intelligence features with the upcoming iOS 18.1 update. These features are not currently available in the EU.
The iPhone 16 Pro models boast 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED displays, respectively, with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness, and enhanced Ceramic Shield protection.
The triple rear camera setup includes a 48-megapixel wide primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide angle camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with a tetraprism periscope lens, offering up to 5x optical zoom. A 12-megapixel TrueDepth front camera supports video calls and selfies. Both models also feature 4K 120fps video recording.
New to the iPhone 16 series are Action and Capture buttons for quick camera access and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
