Apple launched iOS 26 Beta 2, enhancing the Control Centre and fixing iPhone 16 boot issues.
Apple’s iOS 26 Beta 2, released after WWDC 2025, introduces a toggle that enhances the blur effect in the Control Centre, improving legibility for the Liquid Glass UI. A new Accessibility option called “Reduce Transparency” allows users to adjust the blur levels, helping with readability issues, particularly with light wallpapers.
The update also adds two new Apple Music widgets for Live Radio and song search on the lock screen. The feature previously known as “Transcribe Calls” has been renamed “Save Call Transcripts.” Siri can now scan Mail for order tracking within the Wallet app.

Other changes include an updated description for Low Power Mode, introducing a new ringtone named “Alt 1,” an Accessibility section in the App Store, and a repositioned “+” tab in Safari’s tab management.
The update addresses a critical issue affecting iPhone 15 and 16 models. These models were unable to boot after installing iOS 26 Beta 1 and displayed a low battery symbol. Apple has provided a fix that can be accessed through Finder on Mac or the Apple Devices app on Windows.

Users must connect their iPhone, enter recovery mode, and restore the device to iOS 26 Beta 1 or iOS 18. After the restoration, users can recover their data from a backup. Additionally, the update includes various bug fixes to enhance overall stability.
Developers testing iOS 26 Beta 2 report improved UI clarity. The Control Centre fix, but unverified claims about performance issues remain inconclusive. The beta follows Apple’s WWDC 2025 unveiling of iOS 26, focusing on AI-driven features.
