Apple released iOS 18.4 Beta 4 on Monday, which developers and beta testers can download now. This update maintains a straightforward approach, not introducing any prominent new features. Instead, it focuses on addressing bugs reported by iPhone users. The main emphasis of the iOS 18.4 Beta 4 release is on improving stability and implementing a minor tweak.

The changelog spills the details. Apple Intelligence gets three fixes. Siri now works with non-English (US) languages no more glitches. Users won’t see “Downloading support…” errors anymore. No reboot is needed for AI tools, either. Apple says these issues are history with this update.

Notifications have significantly improved, and issues with flickering or collapsing have been resolved. Additionally, Siri’s suggestions in various languages are functioning more effectively. This update also addresses SwiftUI, StoreKit, and Wi-Fi calling bugs. Even the Apple Vision Pro app has undergone some tweaks. Overall, this version smooths out several kinks.

A new feature has been introduced: apps with Live Activities can now utilize Nearby Interaction. This means that Ultra Wideband ranging is now available, allowing these apps to measure distances to nearby devices. This is a small but useful addition for iPhone developers. The iOS 18.4 Beta 4 has made this enhancement available.

Apple continued its updates by releasing beta 4 versions for iPadOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4, and more. Additionally, watchOS 11.4 and tvOS 18.4 were also included in this rollout. The stable version of iOS 18.4 is expected to be released in April 2025. In the meantime, testers can explore this latest build.
