Resolved to bring to book the miscreants responsible for massive Islamabad blast, the police has widened the domain of investigations as the truck used in transporting the explosives, has been traced.

The police sources said they found out the truck with the help of explosives trace detector; however, the driver of the truck is missing. The police are on the look out the for driver and those who sent the goods on board the truck.

The federal police constituted five teams to probe the blast that left 24 people dead in the federal capital. Of them, a team has been tasked to log the statements of the injured and the other team will take statements of eyewitnesses.

Two teams have been dispatched towards Arifwala and Burewala to hold investigations to ascertain the identity of those who sent the goods. The fifth team will has been assigned to accomplish the forensic probe.

A letter has been written to chief commissioner for the formation of joint investigation team (JIT).

Meantime, the interior ministry swept aside the claim of United Baloch Army (UBA) that accepted the responsibility of the explosion in Islamabad’s Sabzi Mandi (Vegetable Market). The ministry’s spokesman said the UBA’s claim is startling but ridiculous as the clues of the blast lead to “somewhere else.”

He did not give any reasons or details for this claim. Nor did he provide any other leads.
