Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi instructed the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) to abolish the fee for issuing a death certificate.
The directive was issued during his visit to NADRA headquarters on Thursday, where he also outlined plans for expanding the authority’s presence across the country.
Minister Naqvi instructed that new NADRA offices be established nationwide, taking inspiration from the model police stations in Punjab. This expansion aims to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of services provided by NADRA to the public.
Naqvi commended NADRA Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar’s Afsar’ship for his exceptional work. During the visit, Naqvi participated in a tree-planting initiative at the headquarters as part of a broader plantation campaign.
Chairman Afsar presented the NADRA Roadmap for 2024-2025, which includes updates to security architecture and cyber security measures and enhances cyber security awareness among employees.
The roadmap also outlines plans for upgrading NADRA’s social infrastructure and online platforms. As Chairman Afsar explained during the briefing, these improvements aim to facilitate easier access to services for Pakistanis, both domestically and abroad.
