An Indiana teenager, Trinity Shockley, faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder and terrorism-related offences following her alleged plan to execute a mass shooting at her school on Valentine’s Day.
The 18-year-old, who identifies as Jamie, is reportedly obsessed with Nikolas Cruz, the perpetrator of the 2018 Parkland, Florida, school shooting that resulted in 17 deaths.
Authorities arrested Shockley, a senior at Mooresville High School, after a trip to the Sandy Hook tip line initiated a detailed investigation. This investigation uncovered plans indicating a potential mass shooting event.

Investigators found that Shockley had been struggling with the recent death of her mother and had experienced bullying following a tragic accident involving a drunk driver. These personal challenges, combined with her fixation on mass shootings, appear to have driven her alleged violent plans.
The probe into Shockley’s activities was a joint effort involving local police, the FBI, and an anonymous informant who highlighted Shockley’s access to firearms and her admiration for Cruz.
During their search, authorities discovered Shockley had sent messages outlining her plans, referring to them as “Parkland part two.” They also found a necklace with Cruz’s photo among her possessions, further pointing to her fixation. Notebooks and other materials evidencing a deep interest in mass shootings were found during a search of her home.
Shockley is currently detained in the Morgan County Jail without bond. The arrest has profoundly disturbed the Mooresville community, a small town near Indianapolis.
Mooresville Schools Superintendent Jake Allen commended law enforcement’s prompt action, acknowledging that their quick response averted what could have been a devastating tragedy.
